Coming up next, October 10-11th at California State University, Fresno, Professor Shankman (UNESCO Chair of Transcultural Studies, Interreligious Dialogue, and Peace at the University of Oregon) will speak at a conference on Gandhi’s Global Legacy. This two-day international conference will feature internationally known scholars and eminent thinkers including keynote speeches by Rev. James Lawson, Dolores Huerta, and Nipun Mehta.

The conference is free and open to the public, and attendance to the event surely would be worthy and thought-provoking. Professor Shankman will be speaking on “Tolstoy and Gandhi: Reflections on Pacifist Nonviolence and Social Obligation” during Session 4-A from 3:00 – 4:15 p.m. in the Peters Business Room 191.
